

Boston Conservatory Graduate
She went on to earn her BFA in Musical Theatre with an Emphasis in Dance at Boston Conservatory, graduating Suma Cum Laude. There, she had the opportunity to perform in several MainStage and student-directed productions including Candide (Dance Cap.) and The Revolutionists (Marie Antoinette). She learned to hone her craft with renowned instructors such as Michelle Chasse, Aaron Tolson, David Pepin, Dr. Marilyn Bulli, Dennis Trainer Jr, Doug Lockwood, and Joy Arcalano.
One of her favorite formative educational experiences was participating in The Verdon Fosse Legacy’s Inaugural Professional Training Program. She was afforded the opportunity to learn original Fosse choreography from legendary teachers: Allen Fields, Spence Ford, James Kinney, Dana Moore, Lainie Sakakura, Parker Esse, Alyssa Epstein, Stephanie Pope, and Lloyd Culbreath.


Making a Difference
Lauren makes it a point to support the communities around her on and off the stage. Over the years, she has participated in numerous concerts and galas such as “The Fund for College Auditions: Broadway for a Day” Concert, “The New York Pops Gala”, and “The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Fundraiser Gala”. She hopes to continue advocating for others and being a catalyst for change through non-profit work.
​Lauren Barkman is a versatile actor with a passion for bringing complex, engaging characters to life. Her love of storytelling has remained at the center of her performing and creative endeavors.​
Music Therapy to Musical Theatre
Growing up in Bucks County, PA, Lauren began engaging with music and theatre at a young age, interestingly, as a form of physical therapy. At age 6, Lauren was diagnosed with cancer and one of the things that always lifted her spirits was music therapy. When she finally went into remission, her love of music therapy sparked her to begin taking dance lessons. This form of rehabilitation led her to find her core passion and life’s work.
Lauren started her performance career as a member of her local theatre — Golden Wings Theatre Company- where she performed leading roles in Beauty and The Beast (Belle), The Miracle Worker (Helen Keller), Legally Blonde (Vivian and Brooke).



Disney Cruise Line
Since graduating, Lauren has made her professional debut onboard Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic. There, she portrayed Drizella in Twice Charmed: a Twist on the Cinderella Story (U/s Cinderella) and Anne Marie in Disney Dreams. She has loved getting to showcase her versatility with these roles as well as traveling the world spreading magic.

Multi Hyphenate Artist
In addition to acting, Lauren has experience as a director, choreographer, dance captain, and teacher. At Boston Conservatory, Lauren assistant directed a MainStage Production of Swing! the Musical which was the institution’s inaugural performance at The Calderwood Pavilion. In previous years, she has acted as head choreographer for full theatrical productions such as Sweet Charity, Beauty and the Beast, Footloose, and Tarzan. Recently, she has premiered two concert pieces as a senior choreographer in Boston Conservatory’s Choreography Showcase. She also has experience teaching dance and is excited about empowering the next generation of dancers to story-tell through movement.
